Pallet Observations

The pallet and lumber industry is going through a major raw material shortage that began around the beginning of 2010.  We were able to deal with the shortage early on because the economy had not begun to show the signs of life that is thankfully now doing. 

As you get busier, we get busier, and now are feeling the effects of the shortage.  Do not worry.  I am not writing to tell you about increasing prices but to ask you a favor.  Please keep good track of your pallet inventory and give us as much lead time as possible for your orders.  That will allow us to plan ahead and make sure that your pallets are there when you need them.

The only treatment we utilize is from the IPPC heat treatment program.  Any pallet with a stamp has been heat treated according to IPPC regulations and have been heat-treated until they reach 56°C at the core for 30 minutes, stamped, and certified in compliance with the IPPC guidelines for import and export requirements for solid wood packing materials.  At no time have your pallets been treated with chemicals of any kind.  No chemicals including TBA, TBP or any others, have touched your pallets.
